Laser Liposuction

What is CoolLipo?

CoolLipo is a laser based, minimally invasive procedure that will tighten skin during a liposuction procedure. This procedure has a recovery time of 24 hours. The laser fiber is small like a strand of hair and will treat areas of lax skin that used to be impossible to treat without a abominoplasty or "tummy tuck," accompanied by a long down time. The CoolLipo laser fiber is held by a hand piece and directs the laser energy under the skin to the areas of desired tightening. Dr. Hovorka will target the laser energy to the dermal layer under your skin, causing the collagen in the sub-surface skin layer to shrink. The laser also stimulates new collagen production, providing a vast improvement in skin tightening over the next several months following the procedure. 

What is the difference between the CoolLipo and other lasers?

The two FDA approved lasers used in liposuction are CoolLipo and SmartLipo.  Dr. Hovorka was one of the first surgeons in the United States performing CoolLipo, as he already was using CoolTouch lasers for five years previously and was given the CoolLipo attachment to perform laser assisted liposuctions. Dr. Hovorka has conducted extensive research, and believe the CoolLipo is better able to perform for skin tightening than SmartLipo.  

Does the CoolLipo procedure require general anesthesia?

Depending on how much fat removal will be conducted with BodyJet Water Assisted liposuction and how much tightening will be performed, Dr. Hovorka will assess what level of anesthesia will be needed. If a patient has a low tolerance for pain. For example, pain tolerance is 4 or lower on a scale of 1 to 10, Dr. Hovorka will have a board certified anesthesiologist. provide sedation so you are comfortable. However, if your pain tolerance is higher than a 4, Dr. Hovorka will provide tumescent anesthesia, where you will be awake but the area being treated will be numb. In the fast majority of cases there is either no or minimal pain. You may feel a sensation of pressure during the procedure, as the laser fiber or cannula is being advanced or retracted.

How long does the laser liposuction procedure take?

The length of time depends on how much tightening needs to be conducted and the volume of fat being removed. Typically treatment times last from one to four hours.

What Does "minimally invasive" mean?

Minimally invasive is a surgical term used when referring to a faster recovery type of procedure where small, localized incisions are made in the skin rather than large open incisions. These 3 millimeter sites are used to insert mini liposuction cannulas into the body. Also, during laser liposuction, a tiny fiber that carries the laser energy is inserted through these sites. One week after the procedure, your incisions will look like "chicken pox,"  then over the next few months will disappear so you will be able to wear your bathing suit and have no noticeable scars.

Body Jet Water Assisted Liposuction

What is Water Assisted Liposuction?

CoolLipo is often used in combination with an innovative new water-assisted liposuction technique called Body-Jet. This new system is designed to gently dislodge fat using a pulsating spray of fluid.  This technique eliminates the brute force used in traditional liposuction procedures. The fat is loosened from the connective tissues by the gentle fluid spray and then removed. This gentle method results in minimal bruising and tissue trauma and produces excellent results. 

How does Body Jet work?

Dr. Hovorka will infuse gentle pulses of fluid while dislodging and removing fat. Body-Jet aids in loosening tough fat using a unique pulsating spray into the body while dislodging and removing fat using a small tube inserted through the skin. The Body-Jet will remove fluids from a patient as quickly as the fluids are introduced, so after the procedure there is a limited amount of swelling and fluid retention as in traditional liposuction. 

What areas can be treated with Water Assisted Liposuction?

What results can I expect?

Almost any area of the body with excessive fat deposits can be treated.  The most frequently performed areas include abdomen, thighs, love handles, bra rolls, hips and arms. Because Body-Jet is a quick procedure with minimal downtime, patients often choose to treat multiple problem areas at one time.

Can we use the fat taken out to be harvested in other areas?

You can expect a more contoured and slimmer body with minimal downtime and discomfort. Liposuction will remove the fat and fat cells and the fat cells do not grow back. Typically, any post procedure weight gain will be distributed elsewhere on the body. To prevent any weight gain after your procedure, a new lifestyle of diet and exercise is key.

What is Natural Breast Augmentation?

How does Natural Breast Augmentation work?

A Natural Breast Augmentation procedure uses a patients own fat to create a volume increase. This procedure is a natural alternative to traditional breast augmentation, which uses an artificial saline or silicone implant. This procedure is ideal for patients who are seeking a one to two cup size increase or looking to restore lost volume as a result of breast feeding, weight loss or the normal aging process.

Small cannulas are sued to gently harvest fat from unwanted areas on a patients body which are resistant to diet and exercise. The fat is cleaned and concentrated enabling stem cells to be enriched for greater survival.  The fat is then meticulously injected into the breast, creating a fuller and more natural looking result. Unlike breast implants, the fat transfer procedure requires no breast incisions, never ruptures, never needs to be replaced and does not interfere with mammograms. 

Who is a good candidate for Natural Breast Augmentation?

Anyone who desires an increased breast size that is natural in appearance. The Natural Breast Augmentation is a good choice for

What is a Natural or Stem Cell Facelift?

A Natural Facelift is a procedure where the patient's own fat is transplanted to the face in certain key areas to replace volume lost with aging or weight loss. As we age, fullness to the brow, temple region, cheeks and lips disappears and the underlying bone and blood vessels become more apparent, giving a hollowed out and older looking appearance. To reverse these signs of aging, a patient's own fat from the abdomen or other parts of the body is obtained and re-implanted into the deeper tissues of the face with micro needles to obtain volume. This procedure will restore the brow, temples, cheeks, and lips to more youthful and healthy proportions.  

What is the difference between a traditional facelift and a Natural Facelift?

Using your own fat to fill in the face provides a more natural, youthful look in comparison with the sometimes "pulled" unnatural results of a traditional face lift. The recovery time is much faster and less painful than a facelift. Also, the Natural Facelift is safer because a syringe is used instead of a scalpel so there is a reduced risk of nerve damage, scarring, bleeding, allergic reaction, and infection. Rather than a traditional facelift, the Natural Facelift will make you look the same, but more youthful. 

Is a Natural Face Lift painful?

The pain involved with a Natural Facelift is tolerable due to the fact this is a non-invasive procedure, unlike a traditional Facelift.  According to a patient's individual tolerance level, different forms of Anesthesia can be used to make this procedure comfortable to a patient.

Is the cost of a Natural Facelift comparable to a traditional facelift?

With Dr. Hovorka's micro-injection methods and with his careful fat harvesting techniques, the Natural Facelift can last between 5 to 10 years. Dr. Hovorka has specialized methods to get fat cells to preserve their integrity, which is important for longevity. 

What are natural fillers?

The cost is no more than a traditional facelift. The advantage is that with the Natural Facelift it includes a general tightening of the skin, better overall condition of the skin. Further, Dr. Hovorka create different contours and shapes of the face. For example he can give the effect of high cheekbones and lower eye lid lift with the fat/stem cell harvesting.

How are natural fillers different from cosmetic injectables?

A natural filler is produced by an innovative new fat-grafting procedure that combines water-assisted liposuction with gentle hat harvesting and fat transfer to help restore the youthful contour of the facial area. 

Because natural fillers use your body's own natural fat to improve contour and restore fullness, the results are more natural looking and long lasting.  With temporary hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen injections, patients must return frequently for new treatments to maintain results, typically every 4 to 6 months. By using your own natural fat cells, the risk of infection or of the complications due to introducing foreign substances in to the body are alleviated. 

Laser Hair Removal Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?

The Alma Soprano XL does not hurt at all. You will experience a warming sensation but no discomfort.

Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?

How does the Soprano XL differ from other lasers?

Our new Soprano XL is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safe laser hair reduction. The Soprano laser is the latest in laser hair removal technology and side effects are incredibly rare.

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

All other laser technology emits laser light using a pulse method.  This process can be painful, time consuming and may not work on all skin and hair types. By contrast, the advanced Soprano laser diode technology uses low fluency, high average power and repetition rates, so the application of light is constant. This allows for the "in-motion" technology to be quick and efficient as it is delivered in a sweeping motion over the skin as opposed to the painful and time consuming pulse method.

In addition, the superior cooling head that is used means there is only a warming sensation during the procedure in contrast to the pain and discomfort from traditional laser technology. Your treatments do not need to be started and stopped because of discomfort and there have been no known adverse side effects.

What areas can be treated?

The Soprano XL laser used pulsed light to safely and gently pass through the dermis, allowing the laser light to be absorbed into the hair root, destroying the cells so they can no longer produce hair. Though hair re-growth has been prevented, this pain-free  laser does not injure the surrounding skin.

What types of hair color and skin color can be treated with laser hair removal?

Almost any area of the body can be treated, such as the face, upper lips, underarms, bikini area, chin, neck, chest, abdomen, back and legs.

Who can be treated?

While laser hair removal can be performed on virtually any skin color and hair type, hair color is the most important factor. The light emitted from the laser is attracted to the melanin, or dark pigment in the hair follicle.  This means that dark hair is treated most effectively. The Soprano allows for multiple laser modalities that provide greater versatility for accommodating a variety of hair and skin color types.

How long does it take before I see results?

The Soprano XL is made to treat all skin types including that of African American, Indian and Asian. On blond and fine hair, the new Soprano Laser technology enables us to reduce hair types which previously could not be done. Your hair will be assessed during your consultation. If you have been informed your hair is too light in the past, we recommend you come in to All in Veins to be re-assessed.

During your consultation, your hair and skin will be assessed and you will receive a recommendation of the number of sessions it will take to achieve hair removal. Generally, it takes 3 to 6 laser hair removal sessions spaced 4 weeks apart to see a 70 to 80 percent reduction in hair growth. For best results, patients should get maintenance treatments done once a year for a couple of years after the initial treatment.

What is Lipo EX?

Who is a good candidate for Lipo EX?

How many treatments are needed to achieve my result?

Typically we suggest 8 treatments for most areas.  However, smaller areas such as the arms can be treated in four session or more treatment may be necessary for patients with a higher Body Mass Index (BMI).  One treatment takes about one hour and 2 to 3 session a week are recommended.   You will be medically evaluated before your treatments to determine how many sessions you will need to obtain your result.  

What results can I expect?

Will the fat return after Lipo Tron RFAL?

The average patient will achieve a 2-3 inch loss on each area being treated and up to 10 pounds in just 6 weeks. Based on clinical studies, the total amount of fat removed per 8 treatments is about 3000 CC's, which would be the equivalent to a 3 liter bottle of soda. We have found that if you exercise along with your treatments, you can pass the fat from your lymphatic system faster and obtain optimal results. A low fat diet is vital because we are melting your fat, so if you eat larger quantities of fatty food and bring fat back into your system, your results won't be as visible as a patient who sticks to a low-fat diet. You can have treatments without exercise and diet, but your results might only be a few inches lost in your desired area.

How do I get started?

The fat will only return upon gaining weight so diet and exercise are key in maintaining your results.  When a Lipo Tron patient gains weight the fat comes back to the same area that the fat was removed because the fat cells were not destroyed. With this process, it is much easier to maintain the localized fat in case you need additional RFAL sessions.

Botox Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into facial muscles and is used for improving the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead and crows feet areas.  Botox Cosmetic is a simple nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows.  It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form.

How does Botox Cosmetic work?

When will I see results from a Botox Cosmetic treatment?

Botox cosmetic blocks nerve impulses, which reduced the movement of those muscles with less movement, the skin surface gradually smooths out, and the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows will begin to fade.

How does Restylane work?

Restylane is an injectable facial filler comprised of a hyaluronic acid gel, a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies.  Restylane is FDA approved in the United States for filling moderate to deep lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as such as nasolabial folds, which are the lines that form from the nose to the corners of the mouth.  cheeks, mouth, and jawline. 

What are the benefits of Restylane?

Upon injection into the mid to deep dermis or the middle skin layer, Restylane works by adding volume and fullness to smooth out facial wrinkles and folds.

Does a Restylane injection hurt?

Will I experience any side effects?

Most people find the injections virtually painless.  If you prefer, a topical anesthetic can be applied to the area being treated prior to your injection.  When enhancing the lips, a local anesthetic injection is often given.

The rate of reactions to Restylane is very low.  After a Restylane treatment some common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site.  These side effects typically resolve within a few hours in most cases.
